ROYAL EXCHANGE GIVES OUT FREE SEASON TICKETS TO UNDER 26 YEAR-OLDS
|
Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre is inviting all under 26 year-olds to apply to THE GUEST LIST – a scheme set up as part of the Art Council’s free theatre initiative A NIGHT LESS ORDINARY.
A NIGHT LESS ORDINARY – pioneered by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) – was launched in February 2009 with the aim of giving away one million free theatre tickets to under 26 year-olds to increase cultural opportunities for young people and to boost a new generation of theatre-goers.
THE GUEST LIST, now in its third season, is an opportunity for under 26 year-olds to receive two free season tickets for the theatre, as well as extra benefits such as discounts in The Studio, invitations to launches and savings in the Craft Shop, Costume Hire, Bar Exchange and The Round restaurant.
This season’s GUEST LIST includes two free tickets to the world premiere of Matthew Dunster’s sensual and sinister adaptation of George Orwell’s classic 1984; William Shakespeare’s anarchic and magical comedy THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, directed by RSC Associate Director Roxana Silbert; Bernard Shaw’s sparkling classic PYGMALION, directed by Greg Hersov; and Brandon Thomas’ raucous and rollicking farce CHARLEY’S AUNT, directed by Braham Murray.
Young people are invited to submit their details at www.royalexchange.co.uk/anightlessordinary by Monday 1 March 2010 when the lucky winners will be randomly selected to receive two free tickets to every show in the Theatre
